Privacy Policy
Last updated August 9, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Blooms by Michael Taylor, owned and operated by Michael Landeros (collectively, “Blooms,” “we,” “us” or “our”), collects, uses, discloses, safeguards and retains personal information when you visit our website, request a complimentary floral consultation, or engage us for event floral design services. Please read this policy carefully. By using this website or submitting information to us, you acknowledge the practices described below.
01 — Who We Are and Scope of This Policy
Blooms by Michael Taylor is a full-service event floral design studio serving Central California. The business is owned and operated by Michael Landeros, who is the party responsible for decisions about how personal information handled by Blooms is processed.
This policy applies to information collected through this website, our consultation scheduling form, email and telephone correspondence, and in the course of providing floral design services. It does not apply to third-party websites, venues, planners or vendors that maintain their own privacy practices, and we are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those third parties.
02 — Information We Collect
Information you provide directly. When you request a consultation or communicate with us, we may collect your first and last name, email address, telephone number, event type, event date, event location or venue, preferred consultation format, and any notes, inspiration, budget parameters or design preferences you choose to share.
Client and event information. If you engage us, we may additionally collect billing and mailing addresses, signatory details for the floral services agreement, payment confirmation records, delivery and installation logistics, guest count estimates, vendor contacts, and site access instructions.
Payment information. We do not collect or store full payment card numbers on our systems. Payments are processed by independent payment processors that maintain their own security and privacy practices; we receive only limited transaction confirmation data such as amount, date and last four digits.
Automatically collected information. Our hosting provider and any analytics tools we use may log technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, pages viewed and timestamps, for security, performance and aggregate traffic analysis.
Images and media. With permission where required, we may collect or receive photographs and video of completed floral work, which may incidentally include images of event spaces and, in some cases, individuals.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information such as government identification numbers, precise geolocation, biometric data, or health information, and we ask that you not submit such information to us.
03 — How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
respond to inquiries and schedule consultations; send the pre-consultation event questionnaire; prepare, deliver and revise custom floral proposals; negotiate and administer floral services agreements; source product and coordinate with venues, planners and vendors as necessary to execute your event; issue invoices and process payments; provide customer service and event-day communication; maintain business, accounting and tax records; secure and improve our website; and comply with applicable legal obligations.
With your separate permission, we may also use event photography in our portfolio, on this website, and on social media. You may decline or withdraw that permission at any time by contacting us, and we will cease future use, although we cannot recall materials already distributed or republished by others.
We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
04 — Legal Bases for Processing
Where required by law, we process personal information on the basis of: performance of a contract or steps taken at your request prior to entering a contract; our legitimate interests in operating, securing and marketing our floral design business in a manner that is not overridden by your rights; compliance with legal obligations; and your consent, where consent is the applicable basis (for example, portfolio photography or optional marketing email).
05 — How We Share Information
We disclose personal information only as needed and only to the categories of recipients described here: service providers that host our website, deliver email, schedule appointments, prepare proposals, and process payments; event partners such as venues, planners, coordinators, rental companies and delivery personnel, limited to the details required to execute your event; professional advisors including accountants, insurers and legal counsel; and governmental or regulatory authorities where disclosure is required by law, subpoena or valid legal process, or where reasonably necessary to protect our rights, safety, property, or the rights and safety of others.
If our business is transferred in whole or in part through a sale, merger, reorganization or similar transaction, client information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy or a successor policy with comparable protections.
We do not sell personal information for money.
06 — Cookies and Analytics
This website may use strictly necessary cookies to operate correctly and, where enabled, limited analytics cookies or similar technologies to understand aggregate site usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may affect certain site functionality. Because industry standards for “Do Not Track” signals are not consistently defined, our website may not respond to them, though we honor recognized opt-out preference signals where required by applicable law.
07 — Data Security
We maintain administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction. These measures include encrypted transmission of website traffic, access limited to those with a business need, reputable third-party providers for payment and communications, and prompt removal of information that is no longer required.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. While we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security, and any transmission of information to us is at your own risk. If we become aware of a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify you and any required authorities as and when required by applicable law.
08 — Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Inquiry and consultation records that do not result in a booking are generally retained for up to twenty-four months. Client contracts, invoices and related financial records are retained for the period required by applicable tax, accounting and limitations-period requirements, typically seven years. Portfolio imagery may be retained indefinitely subject to any permission you withdraw. When retention is no longer required, we delete or de-identify the information.
09 — Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you reside, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you; to request correction of inaccurate information; to request deletion; to request a portable copy; to opt out of sale or sharing (which we do not engage in); to limit use of sensitive personal information (which we do not collect); and to be free from unlawful discrimination for exercising these rights.
California residents may exercise rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act. Residents of other states and jurisdictions with comparable privacy laws may exercise equivalent rights available to them. To make a request, email us at hello@bloomsbymichaeltaylor.com with the subject line “Privacy Request.” We will verify your identity using information already in our possession before responding and will reply within the timeframe required by applicable law. You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf with written permission that we may verify.
Certain requests may be limited where we are required or permitted by law to retain information, such as records supporting an executed contract, payment history, or a legal claim.
10 — Marketing Communications
We may send occasional emails about seasonal availability, portfolio updates or studio news to clients and to individuals who have requested them. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in any such email or by contacting us. Transactional messages relating to an active inquiry, consultation, proposal or booked event are not marketing messages and will continue as necessary to service your event.
11 — Children's Privacy
Our website and services are directed to adults and are not intended for children under the age of sixteen. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
12 — Third-Party Links
Our website and communications may link to third-party sites such as social media profiles, venues or partner vendors. Those sites are independent of us, and we are not responsible for their content, security or privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party site you visit.
13 — Information Processed in the United States
We operate in the United States, and information we collect is processed and stored in the United States by us and our service providers. If you access our website or contact us from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
14 — Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology or legal requirements. The “last updated” date above indicates the most recent revision. Material changes will be posted on this page, and your continued use of the website or our services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
